Or yet another reason not to change your advisor:
Your former advisor will act like a betrayed lover — ignore your successes and laugh if you have problems.
Because your success only counts to them *if* it makes them look good and/or somehow attracts future students for them whose success will make them look good.
And your problems? Clearly they are evidence that you should have a) listened to them and b) aren’t worth their time.
